Oppenheimer Leads 96th Academy Award Nominations

“Oppenheimer” tops the list with 13 nominations, followed by “Poor Things” with 11 and “Killers of the Flower Moon” with 10.

Barbie” and “Maestro” each received eight and seven nominations, respectively.

The ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and air live on ABC on Sunday, March 10, from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.

This year’s Oscars will start at 7:00 p.m. ET, with a pre-show at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The 96th Academy Award nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, with “Oppenheimer” leading the pack with 13 nominations. The Christopher Nolan-directed film, which tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, is up for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Best Supporting Actress for Emily Blunt, among others.

“Poor Things,” Yorgos Lanthimos’s wild adaptation of Alasdair Gray’s novel, is close behind with 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actress for Emma Stone. Martin Scorsese’s long-awaited gangster epic “Killers of the Flower Moon” also had a strong showing with 10 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Leonardo DiCaprio, and Best Supporting Actress for Lily Gladstone.

Other notable nominees include Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” which earned eight nominations, and Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro,” which received seven nominations.
