Earthquake Rattles The Los Angeles Area

LA:- A strong earthquake rattled Los Angeles and surrounding areas on Thursday evening. The temblor, measuring 4.7 magnitude, sent residents scrambling for safety as buildings swayed and objects tumbled off shelves.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported a preliminary 4.7 magnitude quake centered 4 miles (7 kilometers) north of Malibu. The temblor was about 7 miles (11 kilometers) below the surface, USGS said.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located near Malibu, just west of the city. While the initial reports indicate no major injuries or widespread damage. authorities are still assessing the situation and conducting surveys for potential structural issues.

Residents across the region described feeling a sharp jolt followed by a rolling motion. Many took to social media to share their experiences, with some posting videos of the shaking.

The earthquake comes as a reminder of the seismic activity in the region, which is situated along the San Andreas Fault, While Southern California is no stranger to earthquakes, this particular event was notable for its intensity and the widespread area it affected.

Emergency services are on high alert, and authorities are urging residents to remain calm and follow any evacuation orders or safety guidelines issued by local officials.
